About Alex
Alex resides in beautiful BC, Canada with her loving and supportive husband and her two sweet young children. Her background is in fashion design and she has worked in the industry as a denim and dress designer for 15+ years. She was taught by her late father from a young age about the fundamentals of art and illustration and those guiding principals have translated in many of her creative endeavours. Her inspirations are drawn from nature and animals both wild and domestic, but mostly from her beloved dog Gus.
Alex’s creative ambitions have expanded from being a commissioned realism artist to a creative educator, spending time in high school classrooms teaching a range art styles to students ranging from grade 9 to 12. Her art curriculums are designed to foster a fun learning environment where students are challenged to step outside of their comfort-zones and discover strengths and abilities they weren’t aware of. She believes whole-heartedly that art is more than just a hobby - it can be a vehicle for living a rich and fulfilling life.
